If you awoke in the dark, they say,
you see a shark, they say.
And so I burn my share,
my share of midnight oil and marine care.
For a shark’s a ton, a shark’s an ounce;
In sharks we believe, although they make us pounce.
And a Great White you may see roaming and ruling waters deep,
while precious little oysters catch up on their sleep.
An orca is the greatest pearl;
The Corleones agree, so don’t you dare whirl.
Of wit, water, whales and pun divine-
Would you care to be a little saline?

The line “For a shark’s a ton, a shark’s an ounce” reminds me of the poem ‘How did you die?’ by Edmund Vance Cook. It is a pleasure to read your work!

Yes, I’ve taken inspiration from Cook’s piece in here.
