If not now, then when?
Eyes combatting a dearth of pen.
If not now, then when?
Lest we leave behind a world
where two and two made ten.
If not now, then how?
Valour shrinking to a bow.
If not now, then what?
In this world, is material all that’s sought!
If not now, then who?
To the light, we’ll be shewn.
If not this day, then where?
All sages sleep,
and the fools have not a care.

The ‘now’ here is subjective. Personified. A metaphor in other places.
It’s a who, a what, a why, a when, a where and a how.

Much appreciated, Nonso. And always appreciated.
I’m glad the change seems fascinating. 🤗

Ask and then ask some more and make the readers crave for more, questions that are so true, that if they were asked to me, I would not know what really to say. Fantastic post

Wow, Fariha!
Thank you so much; this comment is as good and blissful to me as the poem itself, and as most of your comments often are! 💖
